Are you looking for a career that combines your love of science, sociology, psychology, and helping people? Then you should consider a career as a Genetic Counselor!

The genetic counseling profession is rapidly expanding and diversifying. The demand for genetic counselors in clinical, teaching, administrative, commercial, private practice, and consulting environments will continue well into the 21st century!

Genetic Counselors have specialized training (a Master’s degree) with over 30 training programs in the United States and Canada. Come and join us for this free workshop designed to help you learn about a career in Genetic Counseling, the types of students training programs are looking for, tips for developing a strong graduate school application, and how the Genetic Counseling Student Interest Group (GCSIG) at UCLA can support these goals.

Speakers include: The Program Directors and representatives for Genetic Counseling Master’s Training Programs at University of California, Irvine, University of Texas-Houston, and California State University-Stanislaus-UCSF, current and newly graduated genetic counseling students, genetic counselors with varying career tracks.

The workshop is free and open to all interested in learning about a genetic counseling career.
