Student Groups

Looking for student organizations to become involved in? Below are two groups that may be of interest to you:

Society and Genetics Undergraduate Organization (SGUO)

The Society and Genetics Undergraduate Organization (SGUO) is a student organization that aims to bridge science and society, making SGUO an inclusive space for students in both North and South Campus studies. We serve the intellectual, professional, charitable, and social interests of students passionate about interdisciplinary approaches to problems.

For updated information on events and ways to get involved go to our wesbite at  http://socgenucla.wix.com/sguo, visit us on our Instagram @uclasguo or send us an email at socgen.ucla@gmail.com. All SGUO meetings and events are generally held on Tuesdays from 6:00-6:50 pm.

Genetic Counseling Student Interest Group (GCSIG)

Are you looking for a career that combines your love of science, sociology, psychology, and helping people? Then you should consider a career as a Genetic Counselor! Our mission at the Genetic Counseling Student Interest Group is to provide a resource for students interested in learning more about the field of genetic counseling, who plan on applying to genetic counseling programs in the future or are curious about jobs that combine health care, genetics, and advocacy through our programs of education, experience, and outreach.
