Nicholas Shapiro, Selected to Receive Chancellor’s Award for Community-Engaged Scholars
Prof. Nicholas Shapiro has been selected as one of five faculty members to receive the Chancellor’s Award for Community-Engaged Scholars. This program, supported with the funding from the Chancellor’s Office, annually supports a cohort of UCLA faculty who will design a new course to integrate undergraduates into their community-engaged research projects.
Prof. Shapiro has been granted $10,000 in research funds. His participation as a cohort member will include convening over the next academic year to explore best practices for teaching undergraduate community-researched courses.
