Our research addresses critical gaps in our knowledge of our chemical environment and its effect on several aspects of biology and health. In particular, we are interested in understanding how exposure to environmental chemicals may alter the epigenome, reproduction and the process of aging. To tackle these important issues, we are using the model system Caenorhabditis elegans. The genetic tools available in the nematode allow the mechanistic dissection of environmentally disrupted genes and pathways as well as the comprehensive interrogation of chemicals in high throughput assays.
